High Brilliance laser generators surely are one of the most important technology innovations of the last 10 years; starting from the analysis of their characteristics in 2003, the Cy Laser project built its full steam in 2004. The initial objective was to develop the knowledge base needed to implement the new technology in the metal cutting field. Naturally, a new frontier had to be explored.
Unfortunately at the time no much information was readily available therefore all we could build upon was information from certain science institutes and the enthusiasm of our staff.
Eventually we created our own knowledge base and experience that allowed us to implement autonomously metal cutting with a fiber laser source.
The first metal cutting system was completed and installed at a user in 2005. Since then the system has performed well and has required minimal refinement and virtually no maintenance.
The system has been designed to be extremely simple. It can offer maximum performance with minimal operator intervention.
